Anna Jane's first Halloween party!

Some friends of ours had a tiny-tot Halloween party this afternoon. It was a great time. AJ was the youngest one there but had a blast! Here's her hilarious Monkey outfit. I've been saying it's her Baby Donky Kong outfit, since I have a love of arcade games (which I got from my dad and will pass on to her). :)

Anna Jane gets Baptized

Anna Jane is surely growing up! She was Baptized this past Sunday and she loved it! She was singing quite vocally as our minister mixed up the order of the baptizm and called up the children. Then she got quiet when it was her turn and started singing with joy as soon as she was batpized. We had family and some friends over for lunch afterwards. She slept through all the excitement, having worn herself out at church.

We've started her on rice meal as well. She'll eat it for the nice ladies at daycare but not so much for us. I was able to feed her her first sampling of rice meal but ever since she hasn't wanted it from us. I'll sneak it in her bottle when I have the chance to feed her. I think the daycare ladies have spoiled her.

We're sad that we have to leave the daycare we have her at currently. They only had a temprary opening so we're putting her into our second choice this coming Monday until she can walk. Once she can walk she can either stay or go back to our original one. The new one is a good deal closer and is on my way to work. It'll be nice, but I really did like the other. I'm sure this one will grow on me as well. Both are painted throughout by Happy the Artist, a Richmond kid's staple. His artwork is fantastic!

Daddy and I go shopping

Mom went off to play tennis and the house was barren of food. What's a baby and daddy to do but go out shopping! I had a blast!
First stop was CVS to get their cheap but great diapers, they feel nice. They had these funny midget shopping carts that I didn't really fit into... but we managed.
Then we stopped through McDonalds to get daddy a happy meal, he got Bobba Fett, he yelled "Sweet" so I guess that's cool!
Our next and last stop was Target where daddy spent waaay to long. I decided to spit up and daddy had to buy napkins (which I knew we needed) to clean me up. It was funny. So I did it a few more times. Ha ha!
We ran into this lady Carol plays tennis with, Jane in the wine isle. Daddy claimed he was getting mommy wine so I'd sleep better at night. Hmmm.
The best part of the night was the way home, daddy gave me the receipt and I ATE IT, yummy!
That was fun, let's do it again tomorrow!

My parents stop in for a quick visit

My parents spent the weekend at the Greenbriar celebrating their 39th anniversary. They stopped by on their way back to Florida.

I took Tuesday off and we had a great time. AJ just loved playing with her grandparents and vice versa. My dad and I also managed to get a few odd jobs done around the house.

We headed into Carytown for dinner Monday night at Karsens (fantastic Tuna!) and then for lunch today at Weezies. My mom did some shopping at the cool Carytown shops.

They left tonight to head back to Jacksonville to visit with the hurricane. Good luck!

Smashing Pumpkins were decent

For my, um, 21st birthday... Carol bought tickets to see Smashing Pumpkins at the Charlottesville Pavillion. Thanks baby! I hadn't seen them for a good 14 years. I saw them back when they were touring for the Siamese Dream album. They were great to see live then, so we figured they'd be cool to see again!

We loaded AJ up and dropped her off with the grandparents and headed up there (about an hour from Richmond). Doors opened at 6, band was supposed to go on at 7p, we got there at 7:30p and waited until 8:30 for them to go on. Woa. We were out later than we expected. The venue was great, we were able to get pretty close to the band. They served Star Hill beer, awesome. I'd say a couple thousand people, mixed ages. I did feel a little old considering I was 22 the last time I saw them.

They played mostly stuff from their Zeitgeist release, which is a bit heavier than Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie. They played a few of the good old songs, "Cherub Rock", "Tonight, Tonight" and "Bullet With Butterfly Wings", made fun of "old people" (like me) who just want them to play the old stuff and then finished out the night with Pink Floyd's "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun"... a very long 20+ minute jam session. We left towards the end of that, I love Floyd and all but that wasn't the best pick. We heard them start up "We only come out at night" for the encore.

The above older songs were great to see live again and made the trip worth it. We listened to Siamese Dream on the way home to finish out the night. We picked AJ up a little after midnight and were home, exhausted, by 1am. Not bad for old married folks with a 3 month old. :)

I'm a Boston fan!

We took Anna Jane to her first concert last Friday. Boston was playing Innsbrook. She absoutely loved the concert. I hoisted her on to my shoulder and she dug the band, the lights and all the people. Sweet.
